I think he's right.
Michael Beschloss is a presidential historian who is often on MSBNC. He said this to Ari Melber, today.

6. They have taken away the place where he gets to pretend to be what he is not.

Now he can only be who he is and his id and ego may not be able to handle the cognitive conflict it presents.
because deep inside he knows exactly who and what he fucking is.

8. I have to wonder if permanently banning

might lead to some sort of lawsuits in the future. There is a major investment in a Twitter account - it has equity (I think - I really don't understand it).
I understand there are terms of service, but you can sue for anything.

20. I can agree with that.

Losing the presidency is inevitable even if you win re-election you only get two terms. You go in knowing that you will eventually be leaving.
As silly as it may seem, Twitter was Trump's voice, his power to influence the media, the new cycle. It was where he could bypass the normal communication channels and speak directly to the idiots who followed him, and to get reactions from the rest of us to his inane bullshit.
He will feel that loss more than the presidency because he can't reach out, or lash out. I mean, he can go to Parler, but that is already for idiots.

21. Twitter! On top of FB, Instagram, Twitch, Snapchat accounts all shut down,

permanently, for remainder of term, or indefinitely. And Shopify has down shops run by the Trump campaign and Trump Org.
I'm pretty sure Beschloss may be too close to right, which is scary. Otoh, maybe it'll help him decide he really doesn't want to be president any more..

It's all his well-deserved karma. Trump was calling senators during the siege to get them to stop the vote.
